Card 9.
Spiritual Development.
Self-Discipline. Spiritual Development. Wise Teacher.
Commitment to your Spiritual Development
Spiritual development is a process of cultivating inner growth and connecting with a higher power or the divine.
It involves exploring your beliefs, values, and principles, and seeking a deeper understanding of your life’s purpose. Through spiritual practices like meditation, prayer, and self-reflection, you can embark on a journey of self-discovery and find greater meaning and fulfilment in your life.
You do not have to be religious to follow a spiritual practice, spiritual development is your own inner growth, as mentioned above. It takes self discipline, which can be challenging, we are wilful by nature. However I have found through self discipline, the real work gets done. You will see progress as you go, it takes time. A disciplined person is one who does what must be done to achieve his goals, even if it is difficult. I am reminded of what a medium said to me years ago when she predicted the Flower of Life Colour Oracle she said “You like a challenge.” It’s true, I do.
” The person who masters himself through self-control and discipline is truly undefeatable.” Buddha
Making the commitment to yourself and your spiritual development through having the routine of a regular spiritual practice, whatever that may look like for you. It doesn’t have to take up a lot of time either, it is in the showing up regularly for yourself and connecting with spirit, even ten minutes a day can be hugely beneficial.
Meditation can take many forms, you don’t have to be sitting in the Lotus position to meditate, it could be a walk in nature. I once said to my son that I had been meditating to which he replied “I’ve done my meditation” after he’d been jogging, it can be any practice that works for you. However the meaning in card number 9 is pointing to the deeper connection with your inner being and you spirit guides which takes sitting in stillness to quiet your mind.
Spiritual development doesn’t need to include a spiritual practice however it is the way of many who are dedicated to connect to their higher self, the Wise Teacher within each of us who wants what is best for us and sees our full potential.
Flower of life colour oracle card 9 (Flower of Life Oracle Cards ) gives me a feeling of a connection with Tibet and wise teachers going back in time. I have felt a connection with Tibet for a long time, and at the beginning of my spiritual search I came on a CD I loved by the famous flute player and composer from Tibet Nawang Khechog His music transported me to a different place and is so relaxing.
The colours within card number 9, have the purple which is long associated with Spirituality and our higher self, creativity, and our seventh chakra, at the crown of the head. It also relates to service work and selflessness.
The deep earthy browns are very grounding, nurturing and stabilising, helping us to stay grounded through any spiritual practice, and to help with the times we are living in now. The deep brown, a greater connection to your roots, wherever that is for you.
If you feel you haven’t connected fully to your roots or perhaps are unsure where they even are, connect with your Earth Star, how do you do that? You simply ask to connect with your Earth Star chakra which is roughly three feet below your feet. I visualise a white circle of light about three feet in circumference.

There are various grounding exercises you can do. I do them on a daily basis, generally. Walking is a great way to ground yourself. You can call on Archangel Sandalphon to assist you, and Mother Earth herself. I feel connecting with the earth and grounding to be essential on my spiritual path. It helps to ground the energies and manifest your dreams by bringing them to earth. Into being.
The deep yellow or gold, I see as symbolising the wisdom within and higher learning. Your own pot of gold, your own treasure chest, where most of the knowledge you need can be accessed.
If you are drawn to this card your’e likely already be on your way spiritually, otherwise you may be searching for a deeper meaning or purpose in your life. It could be that a person will enter your life who is a wise teacher. As with all of the cards in the gallery, focusing on the image is suggested. A selection from The Flower of Life Colour Oracle
