The Highly Sensitive Person

I picked a card from one of my many Oracle card decks this morning. I do this every day, then tune into it’s message. It was White Tara today , which I often pick. White Tara is an aspect of Tara, a female Buddha and Hindu Mother creator. The card’s message is ‘Sensitivity’.

It highlights the importance of becoming more aware of our increased sensitivity, and to take steps to alleviate the effects of it. You could feel suddenly drained of energy or become anxious, or get peopled out by being in a crowd. You may have food sensitivities you didn’t used to have. Certain relationships that used to feel comfortable may feel harsh to you now, or not in tune with your energy anymore.

You are encouraged to look at the environment around you and sense what feels right and what feels uncomfortable for you. The highly sensitive person can ‘read the room’ and often absorb other’s energies. You may come home and feel really tired or exhausted but don’t know why, this is where protection is of the utmost importance, or what can be called ‘Spiritual hygiene’

There are many ways to do this . I will share my ways of protecting and shielding myself every morning. I begin with a morning prayer, not for everyone I know. Shower, then I use my aura sprays, I have many. The ones I use daily are by Amanda Ellis of Angelic Celestial Colours, Archangel Metatron aura sprays. I then set the intention to clear my energy field and ask Archangel Michael and sometimes El Morya (an Ascended Master) to put their cloak of protection around me.

Another way to put your protection on is with the Armour of God, you can find this on google search. I often put this on before I go outside. I travel on public transport most days and not that I don’t feel safe but I am a aware of my energy and how I can become depleted if not taking care of my ” spiritual hygiene’. Meditation is a a great way to clear your energy also. All you need do is sit still for five or ten minutes with your eyes closed. You may build it up over time if you’re guided to.

Becoming aware of your energy is a great starting point for the Highly sensitive person . How do you do this? Simply sit quietly and feel into your body . What do you feel , sense ,and where? By becoming aware of your energy , you are more in tune and better equipped to take care of yourself, to know when something feels right or not. In today’s world we spend so much time on social media which can be very draining. It is also important to be aware of what you are reading ,watching, etc…  Does it make you feel good? does it lift your spirits? does it trigger you or make you angry or upset? these are all valid questions to ask yourself.

I keep a middle line as Archangel Metatron recommends, that doesn’t mean I’m passive. It helps me to keep on track, to do the things I enjoy and am passionate about.

The highly sensitive person is not weak, in fact quite the opposite is true. We can bare more than most because we feel more. Iy makes us empathic, intuitive, good healers, good listeners, and helps us to be more discerning. We can give more than is good for us, so learning to receive may be a big lesson in your lifetime.

I can’t speak about self care without mentioning the outdoors, this is by far my favourite way to recharge and rejuvenate my energy. Out in the woods or by the sea, or sitting in your own garden or pottering about.

Never let anyone tell you you are over sensitive. I’ve been told this numerous tomes over the years , It is not so, it is my makeup and what makes me, me. Like so many others and certainly never apologies for being over sensitive. Own it with pride.
