Card 23.
Healing heart. Opening to love again. Self-nurturing
Opening to love again through being compassionate, and patient with yourself. It takes time to heal a broken heart.
It is totally understandable and even sensible, to feel protective of yourself for a while. As your heart begins to heal, (and all in your own time and in your own way) you may feel ready for opening up to love again.
This process begins with self-love and taking care of your own needs. After a heartbreak of any kind, whether it be a relationship break up or grief of losing a loved one, you can feel quite vulnerable, therefore self protection is what’s needed during this period of healing.
” The bravest thing you will ever do is love again.” Madalyn Beck
This is a huge topic which could seem heavy. I will endeavour to strike a healthy balance. When I had completed Card 23 , it was clear to me it was associated with the Heart. Flower of Life Oracle Cards .
The colours linked into the heart chakra are green and pink. Green is the love we give out to people and places. Pink is self-love, inner child healing, compassion for ourselves. Fuchsia (which is in the card) plant is steeped in symbolism, representing confiding love and trust. Inner child article –Inner Child Healing and Connection
As I focused on the card 23 I saw an image, like I do with all of the cards. There was a look of sadness that I sensed. This I feel represents the sadness the heart has felt. Each person will view it in their own way, however this card is showing you that the time has come to heal and open your heart again, in a way that feels comfortable and right for you. It may be that you have begun this process.
The heart chakra is linked in with the element of air. It is called Anahata. It is the fourth primary chakra and serves as our centre of love for oneself and others, compassion, empathy and forgiveness. In Sanskrit, anahata means ” unhurt, unstruck, and unbeaten. Anahata Nad refers to the Vedic concept of unstruck sound (the sound of the celestial realm). Anahata is associated with balance, calmness, and serenity. A book I can recommend on Chakra Healing is by Liz Simpson called The Book of Chakra Healing. You can find used copies here, as they’re quite expensive now, https://www.ebay.co.uk/ https://www.amazon.co.uk
Card 23 is suggesting you have come to a stage in your life where you are opening to love again, even though you may not be taking any steps in this direction, you are open to the idea at least.
I would imagine that if you have come to this stage, you will have done a lot of work on yourself, your own heart healing, and will have learnt a lot about yourself in the process. The journey will do doubt have been painful and challenging at times.
Louise Hay’s book “You can heal your life” is one I can highly recommend. Also her Daily Affirmations book. https://www.louisehay.com/affirmations
Often times when we experience difficult relationships, karma will have played a part. One way to view this in a positive light, is that you have cleared karma between you. We come into this lifetime with what I believe to be our Soul Contracts that we signed up to before we came here.
Taking responsibility for yourself and having the awareness of the higher reason we choose difficult relationships, may not be helpful, especially when in the midst of a painful time. On reflection however, we can look back and view it with new eyes, and perhaps even be thankful we found our way through. It takes time to heal. Opening to love again is a gradual process.
It is often the case that the people we find most challenging and the ones who appear to hurt us the most, are our greatest teachers. That does not mean we have to stick around in an abusive or toxic relationship. It takes courage to leave. There are some people we are only meant to be with for a certain period of time.
You may not wish to be in a relationship with anyone. The most important relationship you will ever be in, is the one with yourself.
“You carry so much love in your heart, Give some to yourself.” Unknown
Find ways to be loving with yourself and forgiving if necessary, letting go of whatever it is you still hold on to, that no longer serves you. Opening to love again will help with self forgiveness and forgiving others that you feel have hurt you. This can take time, however a little willingness is the beginning.
Ultimately holding on to un-forgiveness only hurts yourself. You set both yourself and the other person free as you let it go. This does not mean that you condone the behaviour, however you are ready to forgive the person and move on with your own life.
It can be any kind of relationship that has caused you upset, it may be a friendship that has come to an end. If you are experiencing difficulty letting someone go from your life this is a great affirmation. I have used it often over the years. ” I bless you and I release you, I bless you and I release you, I bless and release myself from you”, whilst visualising the person or situation.
Seeking professional help through healing modalities or therapies of your choice, if needed, can be very helpful. Counselling can help you work through your thoughts and emotions, and gain clarity on issues you need help and support, which can aid the healing process.
A great crystal to work with for Heart healing is Rose Quartz. “This mineral is quite effective in the treatment of conditions relating to the emotional body, balancing the love emotions of the upper four chakras – heart, throat, brow, and crown chakras.
Rose quartz can act as a rejuvenating agent for both the physical body and the emotions. It is an excellent energy for healing emotional “wounds”. “Placement of the crystal in ones environment, using the energies in an elixir, and wearing and/or carrying the crystal all stimulate the true life force – LOVE .” ( taken from Love is in the Earth A Kaleidoscope of Crystals by Melody ) https://www.loveisintheearth.org/
The Anahata Heart Chakra has twelve lotus petals. A lovely visualisation would be to imagine the petals of you heart opening up like the Lotus Flower. Rose essential oil would be lovely to use on the heart area as well. https://nealsyardremedies.com/
Some affirmations for the Heart Chakra – (Liz Simpson book, see above).
I love myself for who I am and the potential within me.
All past hurts I release into the hands of love.
I am grateful for all the love that is in my life.
Other people deserve my compassion.
